Overview

At Dodo Payments, I’ve been the founding designer, working across product design, branding, and marketing creatives often jumping in on social media and video projects as needed. I’ve had the chance to design the full app experience, which is now used by over 4,000 users in 100+ countries. Some projects I’m especially proud of are the redesigned user verification flow, improvements to subscription management, and creating a checkout process that helps make conversions easier for our customers.

Designing the Product Experience

A big win was redesigning our user verification flow : moving from a long Airtable form to a step-by-step experience with progressive disclosure, which helped cut down support queries. I also worked closely with our frontend engineer to speed up checkout, adding Google autofill for addresses and weaving in micro-interactions throughout the flow. Seeing these changes improve conversions and make the product smoother for users has been especially rewarding.

Building the Brand & Spreading the Word

One of my first tasks at Dodo Payments was creating our brand identity. I spent a lot of time playing with different logo ideas and color palettes before we settled on a coin-shaped mark and some bold, vibrant colors to help us stand out. I also pitch in on marketing designs and videos whenever needed. Honestly, I started out not knowing much about tools like Premiere Pro or After Effects, but I’ve enjoyed learning them on the job (and using Framer a lot more too). It’s definitely been a journey and a good reminder that you can always pick up new skills as you go.

Final Thoughts

Working across product, branding, and creative at Dodo Payments has definitely made me more curious and eager to keep learning. The pace of change especially with new AI tools has pushed me to keep up skilling and experimenting. I regularly use AI in my workflow now, whether it’s generating ideas with Lovable, speeding up design tasks with Fray, or exploring visuals in Midjourney. It’s exciting to see how much these tools can amplify creativity, and it keeps me hungry to keep pushing my craft further.
